Commune. Supper Cult & Event Collaborative is excited to announce a supper cult event at Sea Island Savory Herbs on May 15th. The dinner will feature wines from McCarus Beverage Company and four courses from Chefs Jason Rheinwald of The Ocean Room and Air Casebier of FEAST Charleston. Launched in 2014, the goal of Commune is to provide guests with an insider’s look at local purveyors that leaves them with a true sense of place while allowing Charleston’s best chefs to experiment in a collaborative and creative environment. For this event, the focus will be on herbs grown at Sea Island Savory Herbs and how they pair with wine.
Each Commune. event focuses on one purveyor and incorporates their wares into each of the dinner’s four courses. Teaming up with local guest chefs, each course not only highlights the specific purveyor, but allows the chefs to collaborate and experiment in ways they can’t always do within the confines of their respected restaurants. Commune’s past events have featured chefs such as John Lewis of Lewis Barbeque, Daniel Heinz of McCrady’s, Jason Stanhope of FIG and Elliott Moss of Buxton Hall BBQ.
On May 15th, Chefs Jason Rheinwald of The Ocean Room and Air Casebier of FEAST Charleston will cook and collaborate at Sea Island Savory Herbs (5920 Chisolm Rd, Johns Island, SC 29455) to craft a meal highlighting herbs grown at the farm. McCarus Beverage Company will pair wines with each course highlighting and complimenting the flavors of the farm. Beginning at 5:30pm, the dinner will include an introduction and tour of Sea Island Savory, four family style courses featuring foods grown on the farm, live music, a welcome cocktail and wine pairings for $115 per person.
